Police briefs
Cash stolenInvestigators from the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office are investigating a theft of cash reported to the agency July 7.
Police records indicate the complainant alerted police to the theft of $580 from a building in the 9300 block of Rouges Road, Midland.
Jewelry stolen
A larceny reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office July 9 remains under investigation.
According to police records, a caller from the 6100 block of Enon School Road in Marshall reported the theft of assorted jewelry. The items were reportedly worth more than $64,000.
Motorcycle, ATV thefts reported
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received reports of a stolen motorcycle and a stolen ATV last week.
Someone from the 9900 block of Cobblestone Drive in Warrenton reported the theft of a 2005 Suzuki DRZ 125 motorcycle July 11. The estimated loss is $5,000 and the investigation is ongoing.
On July 12, a caller from the 4200 block of Warren Street, Marshall, reported the theft of a 2003 Honda ATV. The estimated loss is $4,500 and the investigation continues.
Remington resident burglarized
Fauquier County detectives are investigating a residential burglary reported to the Sheriff's Office July 11.
Police records indicate someone from the 300 block of Main Street in Remington reported the theft of a 12-guage shotgun and three window air conditioning units. The estimated loss is $400.
Church window broken
A caller from the 9500 block of Old Waterloo Road in Warrenton reported property damage to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office July 11.
According to police records, the caller said a church window had been broken. The estimated loss in the case is $200.
Vehicles damaged
Someone from the 7300 block of Comfort Inn Drive in Warrenton reported property damage to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office July 11.
According to police records, the caller said two vehicles had been keyed. The estimated loss in the case is $2,000.
Two indicted in federal court
Two men accused of trying to sell machine guns to an undercover ATF agent in Fauquier County have been indicted in federal court.
In documents filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia the grand jury charged William Terrell Fant [aka Terry Fant] and David Justin Flohr [aka Justin Flohr] with one count of conspiracy to transfer and possess machine guns. The panel also charged the men with two counts of machine gun transfer and possession.
Flohr was charged with possession of unregistered firearms.
One hurt in two-car crash
A Midland woman was reportedly injured in a two-car crash on Courtneys School Road in Warrenton July 12.
The wreck happened at approximately 6:21 a.m.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, Bonnie Lee Hall, 65, of Midland, was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry eastbound when she crossed the center line. Her vehicle allegedly struck a 2000 Chevrolet Venture driven by Melissa Marie Kerns, 26, of Midland.
Kerns was injured in the crash, police said.
