Animal allegedly causes wreck

Police said a Warrenton man was injured in a single-vehicle accident July 1.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:51 p.m., in the area of Meetze Road and Green Road.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, Robert Lee Wyatt, 20, of Warrenton, was driving a 2001 Dodge RT east on Meetze Road when it went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. Wyatt told police he swerved to miss an animal.

An accident report taken by a Fauquier County deputy indicates Jacobs was driving a tractor trailer carrying milk. He was going southbound when the truck went off the side of the road and hit a guard rail, police said. The vehicle overturned and slid into a creek, and caught on fire. Some of the milk from the container leaked onto the roadway, according to the report.
