Police briefs
Larcenies from vehicles reportedNumerous callers from the Whites Mill subdivision in Warrenton reported thefts from motor vehicles Jan. 24.
According to information provided by the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, someone from the 7500 block of Millpond Court reported the theft of two GPS systems, an I-Pod and a Bluetooth ear piece from a vehicle. The estimated loss is $1,000.
A caller from the 7500 block of Whites Mill Lane reported the theft of a knife from a vehicle. The estimated loss is $50.
Multiple callers from College Street reported damages to vehicles and the theft of miscellaneous items. The estimated loss is $555
All investigations are ongoing.
Strong-arm robbery investigated
Warrenton Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that happened on Norfolk Drive Jan. 25.
According to Capt. Lou Battle, the incident occurred at approximately 10:42 p.m. Two white men wearing bandannas over their faces allegedly brandished firearms and took personal items from a pizza delivery man as he was making a delivery.
Destruction of property
A caller from the 11000 block of Marsh Road in Bealeton reported destruction of property Jan. 25.
According to information provided by the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, the complainant reported that the light fixtures of the building were damaged. The estimated loss is $2,800.
Motor vehicle theft
Fauquier County deputies are investigating a motor vehicle theft that happened over the weekend.
Information provided by the sheriff's office indicates that a 2007 Dodge Nitro was reported stolen by a caller from the 4100 block of Cray Drive in Warrenton on Jan. 27. The estimated loss is $12,000.
Larceny reported
A caller from the 7300 block of Auburn Mill Road reported a larceny Jan. 27.
According to information from the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, the complainant reported the theft of 300 feet of 3/4 poly rope and 600 pounds of copper wire. An investigation is ongoing.
Firearms stolen
Police said someone from the 2700 block of Cumberland Drive in Warrenton reported several items, including two firearms, stolen on Jan. 27.
According to information from the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, the complainant reported the theft of loose change, a purse, a Browning A-Bolt 223 and a Browning A-5 shot gun. The investigation is ongoing.
Larceny investigated
A caller from the 10000 block of Blake Lane in Bealeton reported the theft of a firearm Jan. 27, according to police. The Western Field 12-gauge shotgun was reportedly valued at $125.
Gainesville man injured in wreck
A Gainesville man was reportedly injured in a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 29 Jan. 25.
According to 1st Sgt. Matt Hanley of the Virginia State Police, the wreck happened near Old Alexandria Turnpike in New Baltimore at approximately 9:10 p.m.
Rodney Myers, 51, of Mount Crawford, was driving a 2005 Freightliner tractor trailer, Hanley said. Myers apparently pulled across the northbound lanes of U.S. 29 in order to make a left to go southbound. Harold Williams Jr., 51, of Gainesville was driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey headed northbound on U.S. 29. The minivan was in the right lane when it hit the back of the truck, Hanley said.
Williams had to be extricated from the minivan, Hanley said. He was reportedly transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
Myers was charged with failure to yield the right of way, Hanley said.
Two hurt in crash
Two people were hurt in a car crash on U.S. 29 Jan. 25, police said.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the crash happened in the 5400 block of U.S. 29 near Old Alexandria Turnpike at approximately 7:10 a.m.
John Polk Williams, 41, of Warrenton, was driving a 2004 Mercedes E500, according to the report. He was allegedly attempting to cross U.S. 29 from Old Alexandria Turnpike in order to go northbound on U.S. 29.
Williams told police another vehicle obscured his vision, so he was unable to see a 2003 Nissan Maxima, driven by Everett H. Engle, 67 of New Baltimore. Williams pulled out in front of Engle, causing the crash, police said.
Engle and a passenger were transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, according to the report.
Williams was charged with failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
Manassas woman hurt in crash
A Manassas woman was hurt in a one-car accident on Jan. 26, police said.
According to a Fauquier deputy's report, the crash happened on Elk Run Road near Midland Road at approximately 6:55 p.m.
Sheila A. Day, 51, of Manassas was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger eastbound on Elk Run road when it ran off the right shoulder and struck a tree, police said.
Day was reportedly transported to the hospital by EMS personnel. She was not charged in connection with the crash.
