Owls stun Christchurch to advance
Wakefield's girls basketball team proved that it deserved a VIS Division III playoff bid, pulling off a 29-23 road upset of No. 7 Christchurch on Tuesday night. The 10th-seeded Owls will next play at No. 2 Stonebridge School on Tuesday.
The Owls shut out Christchurch in the fourth quarter on the Seahorses' home floor, overcoming a 23-22 deficit to capture the victory.
Lilly Withers and Ashley Marchi combined for 16 points.
