Perks sets state record at prelims

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8 2008

Fauquier senior Caitlin Perks broke the girls state record in the 100-yard freestyle at Friday's AAA state swim meet with a time of 51.26 seconds.

Perks qualified for Saturday's final in both the 100 and 200 free, finishing each prelim with All-America qualifying times. She finished 2nd in the 200-yard race.

Saturday's state final races begin at 4:00 p.m. at George Mason University.
