Police briefs
Jewelry stolenThe theft of jewelry from a Meetze Road residence in Warrenton remains under investigation, police said.
Police records indicate that someone from the 8700 block of Meetze Road reported the theft of a gold ring with four diamonds to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office April 21. The estimated loss is $7,000.
Construction theft reported
Fauquier County deputies received a report of stolen construction equipment April 22.
Information provided by the sheriff's office indicates that a caller from the 4100 block of Bludau Drive in Warrenton reported the the theft of an NLB water blaster that day. The machine is reportedly worth $155,000. An investigation is ongoing.
Money stolen
The theft of $800 in cash on April 22 remains under investigation, police said.
Fauquier County deputies received a report of the larceny from someone in the 12000 block of Piney Lane, Remington. Police said they learned that someone had obtained the money with a stolen ATM card. The investigation is ongoing.
Residential burglary investigated
Fauquier County detectives are investigating a residential burglary reported April 24.
The incident reportedly happened in the 4300 block of Winchester Road, Marshall. Two home paint sprayers were allegedly taken. The estimated loss is $1,400.
Possession of marijuana, ecstasy
A Winchester man was arrested on several charges after he was stopped on Interstate 66 in the early morning hours of April 26, police said.
1st Sgt. Matt Hanley of the Virginia State Police said Trooper Chris Carson made the stop at approximately 2:45 a.m., after he observed a vehicle traveling 98 mph in a 55 mph zone.
As a result, Mitchell Abramo, 27, was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of ecstasy, Hanley said.
Stafford man killed in crash
A Stafford County man was killed in a motorcycle crash April 24, police said.
According to 1st Sgt. Matt Hanley of the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred on Brent Town Road at approximately 6:37 a.m.
An accident investigation conducted by Trooper Dave Paschal determined that Nathaniel Borger, 28, had been riding a 1988 Suzuki GSXR 1100 when it went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
Borger was allegedly traveling in excess of the posted speed limit, which is 45 mph, Hanley added.
Following too close
A Bealeton man was reportedly charged with following another vehicle too closely after he was involved in a wreck on April 25.
A Fauquier County deputy's accident report indicates the wreck happened at the intersection of Route 28 [Catlett Road] and U.S. 17 [Marsh Road] at approximately 1:37 p.m.
Michael W. Ulrich, 58, was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus and Fannie Mae Berry, 77, of Bealeton was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala. Both were going southbound on Catlett Road when Berry stopped for the traffic light at the intersection, according to the report. Ulrich was allegedly following her too closely and hit Berry's vehicle from behind.
Berry was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, according to the report.
One hurt in three-car wreck
Police said one person was hurt in a three-car wreck at the intersection of U.S. 29 [Lee Highway] and Beverly's Mill Road April 25.
David Clarance Moore, 48, of Manassas was driving a 2003 Ford F-650 when he stopped at a traffic light at approximately 3:44 p.m. As he attempted to proceed through the intersection the vehicle rolled backwards and Moore was unable to stop it, according to the report.
Moore's vehicle struck the one behind it, which was then pushed into another vehicle. The second vehicle was a 2006 Toyota Rav-4 driven by Marshall Dameron Veres, 59, of Springfield, according to the report.
Veres was reportedly hurt, but was not transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
