Join the library's celebration

Libraries across the country will celebrate National Library Week April 13-19, a yearly observance sponsored by The American Library Association.

Fauquier libraries will join the celebration by commemorating libraries and reading throughout April. Programs and special events are planned for all ages.

Teens will be invited to review books on display, leave comments for other teens and make suggestions based on what they like and what they would like to see displayed.

Science Surprises, a program for school-aged students, will feature bubbling, popping, fizzing and slime. It will be presented at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the John Marshall Library, (540) 364-4910; 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the Bealeton Library, (540) 439-9728; and at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Warrenton Library, (540) 349-1128.

Author Susan Crites will read to preschool children during special story times at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22 and 23 at the Warrenton Library; 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Bealeton Library; and 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at the John Marshall Library.
