'Fireball' Firetti ignites campaign trail

I’m good and ready to go,” Mike Firetti said as he walked to the podium to give his campaign kickoff speech. “I wish it was Nov. 6.”

Firetti, a Republican candidate who lives in Leesburg, is running for chairman of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors against the sitting chair, Scott York (I-at large).

Firetti delivered his speech June 1 in front of the Douglass School in Leesburg to a crowd of 20 or so people.

An aviation consultant for Loudoun Aviation at Dulles and businessman, Firetti focused his speech on the idea that great customer service is key to fixing Loudoun’s board.

Great customer service also involves professionalism and bringing a more businesslike approach to solving problems,” he said. The board, he said, tries micromanaging Loudoun’s government “rather than focusing on the larger issues.”

After the speech, Firetti handed out bottles of water and Atomic Fireball candies to those who came.

"For much of my life, I've been known as Fireball Firetti," he said.
