Private ShowingThis is to tell the man in the red plane that he has a fan.
I've been watching you from the ground. Well, from my farm pastures and yard actually. More often than you know. I am in awe of your skill and the performance you give is wonderful and joyous.
Who are you? Are you a man or a woman? A professional stunt pilot or a pleasure flyer of that pretty red plane? Do you perform for others besides me, or is what I'm seeing just an expression of your own preferences?
I'd guess you are a happy person. I bet you smile a lot and have a good sense of humor. I can see it in your stunts and flying. It has to be fun. I'd guess you are fearless and truly love your hobby.
Flying is similar to my passion of horse riding, in that you need a willing partner to really have a good time. I can tell your plane is happy by the way it flies. Up, over, looping, climbing, diving and always with a kind of buzz that sounds like it's saying woooooo-hoooooo!
Sometimes it's silent, when you stall it and free fall. And it starts up again like my cat when she starts purring. It's a good sound, and I'm always glad to hear it.
I think, too, that you must really enjoy looking at life from a different perspective.
I'm guessing that perspective is upside down, as you seem to relish in that upside-down stuff. I'm amazed at how long you fly up there in that way. I'm also guessing you don't eat much before you climb aboard.
I don't eat before riding either. Never know if it's gonna stay down.
I also wonder if you aren't, well, odd in some way. Like a quirky horse person who's passionate for life and their sport. Horse people can be odd, and I mean that in the best possible way, of course.
I bet you can scare all your friends by taking them flying with you, and trust me, I can do the same riding horses. I bet you think that's funny and relish in the storytelling of your feats.
I bet we share one thing for sure. Love of the earth, the sky, the wind, the outdoors.
What does my mountain look like from up there? Can you see my house? Can you see me? Do I look thin from up there?
I confess I've waved at you. I'm sure you didn't see me, but it was my way of saying thank you for the show. I love it. This is kinds embarrassing for a 57-year-old woman to say, too, but I'm compelled to write and publicly thank you for sharing your passion with us earthbound odd persons.
I live up high on Viewtree Mountain/Watery Mountain just west of town. I notice you like flying between here and, say, Orlean or so. Is there a reason for this? Is the air better there?
And I notice you like flying in the evenings during the week before sunset, when it's quieter.
Your engine sounds are what usually catch my attention from my barn chores. I notice you come from the direction of Bealeton or so when you come to fly near my world.
One time, I was riding with a girlfriend when you were doing loops and we stopped and watched for 20 minutes while the horses grazed. We talked about you.
Can't help wondering if there are any others of us near Warrenton that admire your flying besides me. I'm sure there are. It takes my breath away. I can only imagine the freedom you must feel. I am jealous.
Please keep it up. Just know that I am here, watching, wondering, admiring. I love to see people who live well, and I think you are very good at it.
Be well and happy flying.
