The new venue at Kelly’s Ford Inn located in Remington, Virginia was a great success for the eighth Blue and Gray Ball held on May 10. The 135 ball attendees were transported back to the 19th century with the sights, sounds, and mannerisms of the period at the Inn and on the grounds of the historic battlefield.
The John Singleton Mosby Foundation wishes to thank all the ball participants, the valued contributors, the special events committee, and all of the dedicated entertainers who performed to provide such a memorable and entertaining evening.
A very special thank you goes to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Willoughby for their generosity to the Mosby Foundation and for their support and personal help in making the ball such a grand event.
Proceeds from the Blue and Gray Ball will be used to restore historic Brentmoor: The Spilman-Mosby House on Main Street in Warrenton. It will be restored to its 1860-1880 period appearance and will serve as a museum that will highlight the life and times of John S. Mosby, the legendary leader of the 43rd Virginia Battalion, and its other distinguished owners.
Contact the John Singleton Mosby Museum Foundation at (540) 351-1600, or the Foundation’s Web site: www.mosbymuseum.org for additional information and date the Museum will open later in the year.
