Guard duty

 Guard duty

I would like to express my appreciation for our new recreation center, WARF (Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility). The benefits are greater than meet the eye of a casual visitor.

The staff, lifeguards, and management have all shown the best in care and concern.

A case in point: A while ago, my husband, a diabetic, was all dressed to enter the leisure pool when his knees buckled and he went down on the floor.

The lifeguards were as helpful and professional as could be. One ran to get me from the leisure pool, one gave him food to eat, one quickly brought his clothes from his locker, and some helped him dress.

Meanwhile, I was sent to get dressed so I could take him home. When he was fairly stable, two of them helped him to the elevator. One staff member brought our car up close to the door and got him into the car. I took him home and eventually all was well.

I believe that type of service deserves praise. And my husband and I want the staff to know how much we will always appreciate them.
