Puzzling choice

I have just finished reading the article announcing Dr. Jonathan Lewis as the 2012 Citizen of the Year. I am extremely surprised by your selection.
Dr. Lewis has only been in Fauquier County for five years. Your article provides examples of his accomplishments during his five-year tenure as superintendent, but these accomplishments only demonstrate that he was doing his job, leading Fauquier County Public Schools.
I believe you could have selected an individual, as you have in previous years, who has demonstrated long-term service, dedication, and commitment to Fauquier County.
