Hopeful note

I write this with tears in my eyes.

Wednesday’s article (“Love come to Fauquier theater stage”) on the upcoming production of “Almost, Maine” by the students at Fauquier High has touched me on many levels.

I am a lifelong Fauquier resident who graduated from FHS in 1981, alongside my husband. Our children graduated from Liberty High School.

The picture of the couple on the bench was beautiful and the article exceptional.

I am so pleased to see a production that explores all kinds of love and the reality that is present in 2012.

The directors and students succinctly and thoughtfully explained the real world that we live in today.

As the proud mother of an openly gay son (who is thriving personally and professionally), I cannot adequately express my appreciation for this production and the article in your paper.

Thank you for starting my new year with hope.
