Our own brand-new delegate, Marshall farmer Michael Webert, sent out what could very well be his first press release as an elected official last week.
Under the headline “Delegate Webert passes bill to assist mediators,” Mr. Webert or, more likely, an assistant in his office, pronounced that the delegate had “passed legislation in the House of the Delegates,” presumably all by himself.
We are just poking fun.
On a more serious note, HB 368, which Mr. Webert champions, “adds mediators who volunteer their services at non-profit Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) mediator organizations to the list of....” Wait for it.... ”...professionals eligible for state tax credits.” — presumably, the very same tax credits that are now under bipartisan examination in Richmond.
