Congratulations

The Mosby Heritage Area Association will present its annual Heritage Hero Awards at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the National Sporting Library and Museum in Middleburg to long-time preservationists Janet G. Whitehouse and Hope Porter.

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award,” MHAA President Childs Burden writes. “Both of these formidable women have worked selflessly for decades to help preserve our special area of the country.”

Indeed, and Mrs. Porter has often used these pages to eloquently communicate her views on what is going on in Fauquier County and the northern Piedmont — and what should go on to both celebrate and preserve its uniqueness.

Our congratulations to these two women, and our thanks.
