A Warrenton man is looking for help to fund a documentary about soccer in Haiti.
Bruce Kane, president of Sterling Productions, is headed to Terrier Rouge, Haiti in January as part of a team with
Helping Haiti And Soccer. The Virginia-based nonprofit donates soccer equipment to Haitian children. Along the way, Kane wants to create a film about why the work is important and the trials with which Haitian children must contend.
"My personal mission, however, is to make a film - a film about the children, their love of the game, the struggles they deal with as they grow up in a country that knows abject poverty, crime, unemployment, disease and malnourishment as a way of life," Kane said.
Kane has set up a page on crowdfunding site GoFundMe, located
here. Kane works in the audiovisual industry, and said the money would go toward portable filming equipment specifically geared for documentary work.
