Gov. Bob McDonnell announced today that sales of wine in Virginia were more than 1.6 percent greater in fiscal year 2012 than in fiscal year 2011. Eight thousand more cases of wine were sold in 2012, or 485,000 cases, than in 2011.

Sales of wine from Virgina to destinations in other states and countries grew by 39 percent from FY2011 to FY2012. Exports alone grew by 300 percent, primarily from sales to the United Kingdom and China.
