Tareq Salahi launches gubernatorial campaign site

Tuesday, Dec. 4 | By Mark Grandstaff
Tareq Salahi
Linden resident, former vintner, White House gate-crasher and 2013 gubernatorial candidate Tareq Salahi launched his campaign website, www.crashthevote.com today.

The site, available in English and Spanish, touts Salahi as a "modern post-partisan candidate who has a proven history of successfully working across party lines to do what is right for the people of Virginia." It also mentions "In It To Win It," a documentary-in-progress of Salahi's run for governor, filmed by John Campbell of Campbell Media Group.

On Sept. 16, Salahi kicked off his campaign at a barbecue at his home in Linden. Salahi identifies as a Republican, and with Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling dropping out of the 2013 race, Salahi's sole apparent rival in the GOP primary is Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. On April 23, Cuccinelli filed a lawsuit against Salahi for alleged violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act involving Salahi's wine tour business.
