Police continue search for man who tried to kidnap 13-year-old Bealeton girl
Sheriff's deputies continue to search for a man who tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl walking to school Wednesday in the Meadowbrooke subdivision of Bealeton.
The sheriff's office released an updated sketch of their suspect, believed to be a slender, white or Hispanic man in his 30s, standing between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The attempted abduction happened at about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 10900 block of Blake Lane near Hunt Place in Bealeton.
While walking to a bus stop, the girl was approached by the man, who tried to force her into a van. The only vehicle description available at this time is a white van with a side cargo-style door on the passenger side, occupied by two men.
Sheriff's deputies are also seeking information about an older model white work van, followed by a dark grey Jeep Cherokee, which were seen at 6:50 a.m. the same day, running a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Route 28 and Oak Shade Road at a high rate of speed. The speeding vehicles forced several vehicles in the southbound lane of U.S. 28 to brake abruptly.
Anyone with information about these incidents should call Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (540) 422-8650 or Fauquier County Crime Solvers at (540) 349-1000. Callers can remain anonymous.
