Piedmont region braces for possible snow storm

Monday, Mar. 4 | By Mark Grandstaff
A NWS forecast map for early Wednesday morning.
A mid-week storm could bring more than five inches of snow to the Fauquier County region, according to the National Weather Service.

A "strong, low-pressure system" will rake through through the region, with rain changing to snow Tuesday night, according to an NWS release. The storm will bring temperatures in the lower and mid 30s and north-eastern winds with gusts of up to 30 miles per hour.

The winds, combined with heavy, wet snow, could lead to power outages, according to the release.
