One lane of U.S. Route 29 near Opal interchange closed Dec. 27-28

The left-turn lane from northbound Route 15/29 onto Route 687 (Opal Road) in Fauquier County will be closed Dec. 27-28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Shirley Contracting Co., LLC, a contractor for the Virginia Department of Transportation, will close the lane to coninue work on the Opal interchange project, slated to finish next December.

Virginia State Police will be on hand to provide assistance with traffic control.
