NWS: ‘100 percent chance’ of 7-13 inches in Fauquier

Tuesday, Mar. 5 | By Mark Grandstaff
Yesterday's storm watch has been upgraded to a warning, with the National Weather Service promising at least half a foot of snow in Fauquier County.

According to a release sent out by Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Sara Makely, residents can count on anywhere from seven to 13 inches of snow between Tuesday night and Wednesday.

DFREM staff are already looking into potential sites for emergency shelters, and will open them if the need arises, according to the release.

DFREM urged Fauquier residents to travel only in an emergency - and if so, to take along a flashlight, food and water just in case.
