Fauquier pitcher Tess Miller picked up her third win of the season Friday by shutting out the Culpeper Blue Devils, 3-0, and producing a run with a sacrifice bunt on the road in Culpeper.
The Falcons (4-0) scored all three runs in the third inning after Justina Augustine hit a lead-off single and Kai Miller walked. Augustine scored on a Tess Miller sacrifice bunt and ensuing throwing error. Kaitlyn Reid then followed with an RBI bunt single and Apryl Nalls finished the scoring with an RBI infield single.
Miller held the Blue Devils hit-less until the final inning. She did not walk a batter in the game and finished with only two hits allowed and one hit-by-pitch while striking out two.
Angelle Marshall had Fauquier’s only other hit as Culpeper pitcher Miranda Cropp allowed only four hits and four walks while striking out four over five innings.
