There could be a changing of the guard in the Evergreen District.

For the first time in recent memory, the Fauquier Falcons have lost to fellow district wrestling teams -- first to Warren County, 39-38, Jan. 1, and again to Brentsville on Wednesday. During a triangular dual meet in Nokesville, the Brentsville Tigers upset Fauquier, the winner of seven consecutive district titles including three in the Evergreen.

The Falcons beat Kettle Run, 36-15, but lost to the Tigers, 39-36. Fauquier won seven of its 14 matches, but six of its seven losses came via pin, giving the Tigers enough bonus points to win the dual.
