The Wakefield Owls lost to the Fredericksburg Christian girls basketball team, 50-32, Thursday at home in The Plains.

Fredericksburg used a 17-5 run in the second quarter to pull away and take a 29-15 lead at halftime, dropping the Owls’ record to 7-5.

Airielle Jenkins led Wakefield with 12 points, while Kelly Mason had nine and Alexis Smith had seven. Mason also had nine rebounds and two steals, while Jenkins had four rebounds and Smith had five rebounds and three steals.

Brittany Burton led Fredericksburg with 21 points while Dominique Lavender had 14.
