Home energy assistance applications open tomorrow

Monday, Oct. 8 | By Mark Grandstaff
Virginians who need financial assistance with energy bills for the 2012-2013 heating season can apply for aid Tuesday through Nov. 9.

The Virginia Energy Assistance program, under the Virginia Department of Social Services, administers aid through the Virginia Energy Assistance program. Anyone eligible can apply for help at the Fauquier County Department of Social Services office on Hospital Drive in Warrenton.

To qualify, a household must be at or below 130 percent of federal income guidelines. For a family of four, that means an annual household income of less than $29,965. To learn more about eligibility requirements, go to www.dss.virginia.gov or call 2-1-1.
