Guest bartenders to raise money for school mental health initiative

Monday, Nov. 12 | By Mark Grandstaff
Guest bartenders will raise cash Monday evening for a program to reach at-risk Fauquier County students.

At Claire's at the Depot on 65 South Third St., between 5-7 p.m., the Fauquier Mental Health Association and other volunteers will assume bartending duties. The money they raise will help Fauquier County Public Schools create a part-time mental health specialist job as part of the "Catching Kids in Crisis" initiative. The specialist will concentrate on children and teens at high risk of dropping out or failing classes because of mental health issues, said Sallie Morgan, executive director of Fauquier MHA.

Participants for the Monday evening event are Wanda Browning, Tim Burch, Jr., Melanie Burch, Dr. Diana Chalmeta, Christy Connolly, Therese Crowther,
Jennifer Heyns, Joe Martin, Susan McCorkindale, Paul McCulla, Dennis Taylor and Marie Washington.
