The Kettle Run Cougars will play for the Evergreen District tournament championship.
Kettle Run defeated the Warren County Wildcats for the third time this season Wednesday, winning 68-43 during the semifinals of the district tournament. The Cougars advanced to play in the district final Friday against Liberty, which beat Fauquier, 55-51, in the semifinals Wednesday.
The Cougars (11-12) took a 15-10 lead in the first quarter, led 35-17 at halftime and expanded that advantage to 51-34 at the end of the third quarter.
Brendan Deliee led Kettle Run with 21 points, while Danny Mattson had 14, Rashawn Latimer had 11 and Travis Williams and Eddie Benton finished with seven each. Williams also had 10 assists.
