Stacey Babish and Ann Meyer have earned the designation as National Board Certified Teachers. Babish is a reading specialist at Greenville Elementary School and Meyer teaches math at Fauquier High School.

Pat Baker, a teacher of the gifted at Mary Walter Elementary School, is the first Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) teacher to complete the national board certification renewal process, as she was the first FCPS teacher to achieve national certification. Her certification is continued through November 2023.

In order to obtain national board certification, teachers undergo 200 to 400 hours of assessment, compile a portfolio illustrating their teaching practices and take a written assessment.

Twenty-three national board certified teachers are on FCPS staff.
