The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three daytime burglaries in northern Fauquier and several attempted burglaries in the Opal area.

The three burglaries took place in private homes on Halfway and Atoka Roads:

On Oct. 23, a home in the 4000 block of Halfway Road was entered during the afternoon and large amount of jewelry was taken.

On Nov. 16 a home in the 1700 block of Halfway Road was entered during the day, and sterling silver and cash were taken.

On Dec. 13, a home in the 2700 block of Atoka Road was entered during the day, and jewelry and medication were taken.

Each of these homes was entered by breaking the glass window of a door and unlocking the door. Two doors on the Atoka Road home were broken however they were unable to be unlocked and the perpetrator(s) entered through an unlocked door.

From Dec. 7-11, there were several burglary attempts in the area of Clarkes Meadow and Logan Jay Drives near Opal.

Numerous homes were discovered to have screens on doors or windows cut near the lock. The burglary attempts happened at night.
