Fauquier County to provide technology grants for businesses

The Fauquier County Department of Economic Development today launched a Technology Assistance Matching Grant Program to provide businesses in the county with up $2,000 in grants to improve their technology infrastructure.

The program is part of the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors’ initiatives designed to assist the business community.

The purpose of the program is to assist county for‐profit businesses in technology developments and improvements, which will improve efficiency of operations or expand business operations in a way that contributes to growth in business revenues.

Applicants can apply for funding of up to $2,000 with a 1 to1 match required. No more than 10 projects will be funded during this grant cycle.

Applications will be accepted through April 16, and the pool of applications will be reviewed and grant recipients notified. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, website development, e‐commerce solutions, database development, and other ecommerce innovations as approved.

The grant is a technology or tourism zone business incentive, therefore businesses must be located within a technology or tourism zone. These zones have been designated by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors as the service districts throughout the county.

The deadline for submission of grant applications is April 16. The grant program is funded by the Industrial Development Authority and administered by the Fauquier County Department of Economic Development.
