Fauquier residents lined up at county polling centers this morning, casting their votes at the culmination of a high-stakes election season.

Officials projected an 80 percent turnout from Fauquier's registered voters. By 8:30 a.m., many precincts had already received a quarter of eligible voters in their areas.

Polls in Virginia will stay open until 7 p.m. If you are in line at 7 p.m., you can still vote.
