Friday, May. 24 | By .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Starting tomorrow and running until May 31, storm supplies like batteries, first aid kits, bottled water, radios, and generators can be purchased statewide without sales tax. According to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the exemption applies to items priced $60 or less and to generators priced $1000 or less.

It's part of Virginia Hurricane Preparedness sales tax holiday, a piece of legislation approved by the General Assembly in 2007 and running through 2017. Hurricane season is June 1-November 30.
