Blessings
I want to take this opportunity to show support for those who have served this great country. Not to distract us from our work of pushing for the principles that laid foundations that built this county, but in respect for those who have paid the price with their blood. Thank you and May God bless all of you, Amen.
My family, the other week traveled to Walter Reed Hospital and they told me about all the things they saw and those stories break my heart in two. What really laid the impression on my heart to write, was hearing about the group of people standing in the front of the gate, as they pulled into the hospital. They were holding signs and waiving to the bus loads of wounded soldiers, saying “welcome home” and “thank you for your service”. What a mighty country we live in, to hear about regular people making this type of statement on their days off from work, or apart from their daily lives to show support for these brave men and women, that the rest of us should beg of. I would like to offer a prayer on your behalf;
Lord, Thank you for the work of Your hands. Thank you for Your history and Your traditions that adorn this country we call home. Thank you for Your love and mercy. Your love is displayed in those with a servant’s heart and I pray for all those who serve You through others. I pray, that all those who labor and are thirsty rest on the shores beside Your waters of Everlasting Life, that they may not labor in vain. You are the only God, there is none like You, not even a sparrow falls to the ground without You knowing and You know all the struggles of those carrying this burden. May You give them comfort in their time of need, strength in the face of weakness and the wisdom to discern Your perfect Will. Glory be Your name forever! In Christ’s name I lay this at Your feet, Amen.
Please, if you have a moment, send a card or a note to a Soldier and their families. If you know one personally, take an extra minute and thank them for me. They all still really do need our support. I know there’re tons more groups that are focusing on this issue, but here are a couple links of my favorites:
