Local Consumer Confidence Ends 2009…A Surprising Trend
As local REALTORS® prepare prospective homebuyers for action in taking advantage of the Federal tax credits that exists for the next four months and buying a “new” home, some consumers may not be as amenable as hoped. According to the Consumer Confidence Survey® released in December, national consumer confidence in the economy improved moderately for the second month in a row, but the consumer’s short term prospective fell.
With all of that news, Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties have shown a dramatic increase in “written contracts” when one reviews our local data. If we can get the current “trust holders” to pay attention, the “lower-third” of our market may be “hot.”
Stay tuned.
