F!rst Fr!day!
I'm happy to report, in my humble opinion, that the first F!rst Fr!day Event in Old Town Warrenton was a HUGE success!
As a community we need to enthusiastically thank Amy Gable of The Partnership for Warrenton, Town Councilman Sparky Lewis, The Partnership for Warrenton Board of Directors, and especially the shops and eateries in Old Town Warrenton. Amy led the charge and through a lot of heavy lifting, motivation, and support made this thing a true success coming out of the gate. And she is just getting warmed up! Future events will be bigger, better and even more successful! Woo Hoo!
I applaud the shop owners who took the risk of staying open late on Saturday evening. Based on the feedback I received during visits to their shops they were all very happy that they chose to participate. Their investment paid off in increased revenues and from a marketing perspective as they introduced themselves to many people who had not visited before. The shops, restaurants, entertainment, farmer's market and children’s activities are the cornerstones of these events. As a business consultant I must pass along some free advice...if your establishment was not open last Friday evening (May 2nd) you missed a huge opportunity - and I encourage you to participate in the future - it's good for business! Remember “Shop Here, Fauquier!”?
Thanks again to Amy, her team, and the shops and restaurants of Old Town - you made this an enjoyable, memorable and rewarding evening! I'm looking forward to F!rst F!days all summer long and to seeing friends and business associates there too!
